Avoid Fake looking Filler by understanding Profile Balancing

What image comes to mind when I mention lip filler? Or any filler for that matter. Most of us have an 'insert celebrity picture here' image of fake looking, puffy, duck-faced results. I've made it my mission to educate and talk about how we can avoid this!

Good filler should be undetectable. Effective, yet subtle. In my practice I invite you to expect comments like 'you look great, have you changed your hair?' or 'what's your secret?!' You don't need to teel anyone about your treatments unless you want to, because I will work with you to achieve subtle, natural, effective enhancements that are 100% complimentary to your existing features.

HERE'S HOW:

I will assess your face from all angles, divide it up into thirds and look at something called the Golden Ratio. I invite you to google it because it is a phenomenon that has been used for centuries (think architecture, the Mona Lisa) and it has been proven that babies spend longer looking at objects or people that the Golden Ratio applies to!

In short, it is a ratio that optimises beauty and I use it to balance your own features. For example, the lips are generally 1/3 top lip, 2/3 bottom lip. This looks beautiful and natural. Whereas if they are 50/50 or the top lip is bigger than the bottom, it can look a bit odd.

Another example is that generally speaking in more feminine faces the chin is about as wide as the nose (at the nostril end!), and in more masculine faces the chin tends to be wider, more along the width of the lips themselves.

Can you see how using dermal filler in the chin ASWELL as the lips will give a more natural, beautiful result than just focusing on the lips themselves?

This is why my fave treatment combo is to look at 3 areas first of all:

1) The cheeks. Here I can provide contour and reduce shadowing in the nasolabial (nose to mouth) or marionette (mouth to chin) lines that people complain of so often

2)The chin. Here I can balance your facial features to best align with the Golden Ratio, and to feminise or masculinise your features based on desired outcome

3)The lips. Here I can increase height, volume, cupids bow, etc all whilst still looking natural (no duck lips here thank you very much) .

By considering your proportions carefully in this way we can achieve a natural result that balances your features so that the size of each area compliments the next and you don't end up looking top heavy (larger forehead), bottom heavy (square jawed) or duck lipped.

Based on this, I encourage you to seek out a practitioner who respects your proportions and is dedicated to providing results that work for you in an effective way that doesn't scream to the world 'I'VE HAD FILLER!' Unless you want to tell everyone anyway. Which I also encourage as it helps to get the message out there that filler doesn't need to look or feel fake!
